SACRAMENTO -- Already the Big Sky Conference MVP and an all-Pacific Region honoree, sophomore outside hitter
Victoria Marthaler was named honorable mention All-America today by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
She becomes just the third Hornet volleyball player to receive All-America honors during the program's Div. I era (1991-pres.). Marthaler joins
Bridgette Smith (2023) and Jill Haas (1995) as the three Div. I honorees. Sacramento State had 17 All-Americans during the Div. II era.
The Albuquerque, N.M., native helped Sacramento State to a 20-10 overall record and 12-4 mark in the Big Sky Conference. The Hornets finished in second place in the league standings - just one game back of first place.

• Averaged 5.72 kills per set in conference play
• Ranks among Sacramento State's all-time top five players in single-season history in points per set (3rd), kills per set (4th) and kills (5th with 553)
• Had two straight matches with 30+ kills (33 at NAU, 33 vs. Montana), becoming the first Hornet with 30 in back-to-back matches in 30 years
• Led the Hornets in kills in 26 of the team's 30 matches, including each of the last eight
• Posted four double-doubles (kills and digs)
• Named all-tournament at the Central Cal Challenge
