SAN DIEGO — The Sacramento State women's golf team moved up two positions in the standings to finish in fourth place out of 12 teams at the San Diego State Classic on Tuesday at The Heights CC. The Hornets concluded the three-round tournament at 297-299-294-880.
 
Ella Kraft and Florenica Dufey led the team on Tuesday with each shooting an even-par 72. Kraft tied for sixth place overall at 70-73-72-215 to finish at 1-under par. The senior's third round ranged between 1-under and 1-over throughout the day. She started play in the 10^th and moved to 1-under with a birdie on the par-4 11^th. A bogey on No. 15 and a birdie on the 18^th kept her at 1-under at the midway point of her round. Once on the front side of the course, she had five pars before consecutive bogeys on Nos. 6 and 7 mover her to 1-over for the first time during the day. She answered with a birdie on the par-4 eighth and ended the tournament with a par.
 
Dufey was even through her first nine holes with a birdie on No. 13 and a bogey on No. 18. She played the front nine at 2-under with the help of birdies on Nos. 2, 8 and 9 to offset a bogey on No. 4. A double-bogey closed her round and tied for 21^st place at 70-80-72-222.
 
Tova Hatton made the biggest jump on the team, rising 10 spots in the standings with a 74 in the final round to tie for 27^th place. The sophomore was 2-over through her first three holes before playing her final 15 even. She tallied two birdies and four bogeys during the day.
 
Darla May Dela Torre added a round of 76 for the final counting score toward the team total. Dela Torre had two birdies and six bogeys in the final round and tied for 54^th overall.
 
Cal State Fullerton had two of the top three finishers and easily won the team title. The Titans shot 852 over the three rounds to finish 20 strokes ahead of UC Irvine. Santa Clara was third at 875.
 
CSF's Katharina Zeilinger shot 68-69-70-207 to win the individual crown by three strokes.
 
 Sacramento State will next play in the Causeway Invitational at Del Paso CC on Feb. 23-24.
