LOWELL, Ore. -- Sacramento State competed four boats at the Oregon State Invitational on Saturday morning at Dexter Reservoir.

Today was a four-team regatta that featured a pair of nationally ranked teams in 20th-ranked Oregon State and 23rd-ranked USC. San Diego and the Hornets rounded out the field. The crews raced in varying conditions with high wind gusts.

Sacramento State raced in four competitions over 2,000 meters, including the varsity eight, second varsity eight, varsity four and second varsity four. Today marked the team's final tuneup for the WCC Championship, which take place on Lake Natoma May 16-17.

In the varsity eight, the Hornets' time of 7:02.95 was nearly 13 seconds faster than fourth-place San Diego. Both of the nationally ranked teams took up the top two spots with Oregon State finishing at 6:44.30 and USC 6:54.16.

The combination of Oregon State or USC took up the top two spots in each of the four races the Hornets competed.

Sacramento State finished fourth in the second varsity eight, varsity four and second varsity four. Complete results and lineups can be found below.

In two weeks, the Hornets will compete at the WCC Championship as a conference member. Sacramento State joined the WCC prior to this season.
