SACRAMENTO -- Six Sacramento State rowers were recipient of the National Scholar Athlete Award, it was announced by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA).
This year's award winners are comprised of senior
Emma Goldsmith, juniors
Ruth Brooks,
Nieka Marais,
Emma Stockton and
Harper Waring, as well as sophomore
Kaylee Godwin.
To qualify, an athlete must be in at least their second year of eligibility, maintain an average cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and rowed in their institution's NCAA eligible boats for a minimum of 75 percent of the spring races or race in an NCAA boat at their conference championship.
The award for Goldsmith was her third straight, while Marais, Stockton and Waring each earned the honor for the second straight year.
The accolades mark the 13th straight year, and 14th time in the last 16 years, Sacramento State has seen at least four of its student-athletes receive the National Scholar-Athlete Award.
