COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Three members of the Sacramento State track and field team competed at the NCAA West First Round on Thursday at Texas A&M.

Ava Fitzgerald opened the day by finishing 26
th in the women's 100-hurdles. Fitzgerald ran 13.44 to finish in fourth place in her heat and missed advancing to Saturday's quarterfinals by .06 seconds. The senior will leave Sacramento State as the school record holder in the event after running 13.34 to win the Big Sky Outdoor Championships.

Dominique Abbott placed 42nd in the women's 800. Abbott ran 2:11.47 which left her just over five seconds behind the final qualifying position. During the year, the sophomore finished in third place at the Big Sky Outdoor Championships and currently ranks fifth in school history with a time of 2:07.35.

Breija Stredic completed the trio by placing 39
th in the 400-hurdles in 1:00.31. Stredic was 1.65 seconds off the final advancing position. Earlier this year she ran 58.52 in the event which ranks second in school history and was the fastest time by a Hornet since 1985.

Sacramento State will continue the NCAA West First Round on Friday with
Miles Grant in the high jump and
Kellan Quinley in the triple jump. The meet will conclude on Saturday with
Tia Oliver in the women's steeplechase.
